Middlesex ss.

The Examination of Elizabeth Barber< no role > Single woman taken
an oath before Me one of his Majesties Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middx residing in or Near the Parish of
St Botolph without Aldgate in the County of Middx this
Nineteenth day of August 1758.

This Examinant on her oath saith that about Nine Months ago one John
Hollond
< no role > a soldier belonging to his majesties First Regiment of Foot Guards did
Prevail with this Examinant to Suffer him to lye with her at the dwelling
house of one Mrs. Hines in Good mans Fields in the Parish of St Mary
White chappel in ye sd County Where this Examinant and the said John Hollond< no role >
lodged And the said John Hollond< no role > had Carnal knowledge of this Examinants
Body and so had several times whereby she Conceived with Child or Children of
which she Now goeth and is Pregnant And this Examinant saith that the
Child or Children of which she now goeth with and is Pregnant as aforesaid
is or are likely to be born a Bastard or Bastards and to be chargeable
to the said Parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate she Not being able to
Provide for the same And that the said John Hollond< no role > is the true and only
father of the said Child or Children so likely to be born a Bastard or
Bastards as aforesaid And lastly saith that this Examinacon is
Voluntary And that she hath not been forced or compelled to be examined
by any Person or Persons whatsoever
