Continued Thursday 28th. Novr. 1793

And the Committee having viewed the House had Resolved
that the Surveyor do prepare a plan for enlarging the Rooms
where the Patients are placed while their Cells are cleaning and
to report the same to the Committee together with an Estimate
of the Expence of such improvement.

And the Committee Resolved that the Clerk do Appeal agt.
the Land Tax charged on the Ground at little Moorgate which
had been lately leased to the Hospital by the Corporation of
London at 1s. a Year.

That the Treasurer had laid before the Committee several
Bills amounting to £242..8..7 for extra work done in the
years 1790 and 1791 to the Apothecaries House more than
was included in the Contracts

And that Mr. Holland the late Surveyor being present declare
that altho' he believed the several works had been Executed yet
as no orders for such works were given by him he had refused
to bring forward the several accounts and it appearing upon
inquiry that such orders were given by the weekly Committee
at different times.

The Committee had Resolved that such Bills ought to be
discharged but that they were prevented by the late Rules
and Orders from ordering the payment of them without the direc-
tion of the Court.

That the Surveyor had informed the Committee that upon
taking down the Linings of the 15 Cells pursuant to the late
Contracts he had found the Walls defective and that they
ought to be stopped and mended before the new linings were
put up.
