The Minutes of the Prison Committee of the 13th. February were then and whereby it
appeared that the Committee had ordered their resolutions of the 9th. January last to be
printed and a copy sent to every Governor
And had Resolved that William Rumtle< no role >
having been appointed to do the duty of
Porter
during the pleasure of the Court should be execused from sweeping the Court Yards
watching every 5th. night and being sent out with summons as and Messages
At this Court the Minutes of the Rison Committee were confirmed
The Minutes of the Bethlem Committee of the 19th. February Instant were then read
whereby it appeared that they had received a report from the Surveyor of a variety of
repairs necessary to be done to Bethlem Hospital
Whereupon The Committee had Ordered the Surveyor to prepare Contracts for such part of the repairs
as were immediately wanted for a sum not exceeding £1000
Also for enclosing One Room at the end of the Mens Gallery for the Convalescent
Patients at an expence not exceeding £70
And agreeable to the 18th. standing Rule or Order of the Hospitals of Bridewell and
Bethlem the Committee recommended to the Court
That in future upon the Vacancy of a Steward Matron or Barber belonging to
the Hospital of Bethlem the Committee of that House be immediately summoned
in order to deliberate upon and prepare a Report for the General Court as to the
future necessity of any such Officer or Servant and what has or ought to be its
duty and Salary
That the said Committee in future do at their Weekly Meetings Audit all
Bills for Business done at the said Hospital Provided that the Quarterly Bills be
