Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House dated the 22d.
day of Janry 1756 under the hands of John Wallington< no role > Esqr . Trear, Mr. Richd. Manby< no role >
Mr. Samuel Seawell< no role > , Mr. Joseph Vere< no role > Mr. Richard Blunt< no role > , Mr. Philip Grafton< no role > ,
Mr. Richard Reily< no role > , Mr. George Wyld< no role > , Mr Robert Waite< no role > & Mr. William Seward< no role > as
follows Vitzt.Upon Reading the humble petition of Ann Morgan< no role > Widow of
Robert Morgan< no role > deced wch was laid before the Court the 27th. of March last 1755
Settingforth That her Grand father William Atkins< no role > was Artsmaster of this Hospital
for 40 yearsAnd her FatherAtkins was born in this Hospital and was
Beadle & Portersman above 20 years, And her said late Husband Served his Apprenticeship
in this Hospital and was Chappel Clerk & Beadle above 30 years And that she was
born in the Hospital & never lived out of itThat at her Husbands death
she was left in very low Circumstances with one Son unprovided for and her
Eyesight very much decayedAnd praying the same favours as was formerly
done to Widow Gething or the Widow Stanford to put her in away whereby to get
her livelihoodThis Comittee having Considered the same are of Opinion
to give the said Ann Morgan £5.All which is Nevertheless Submitted
to the Judgment of the CourtThis Court haveing duly weighed & considerd
the said Report doth Confirm the same And Order that the Steward of this
Hospital do pay the sd. Ann Morgan £5.

At this Court the Vacancy of an Artsmaster was declared, in the Room
of Corns. Morleir< no role > Expelled which makes now 3 Vacancys, And Ordered That
the Election of 3 Artsmasters be at the next Court, And That Notice thereof be
Inserted in the Sumon's.

Upon Reading an Order of this Court the 30th. April 1740, That no
Engine Looms be set up in this Hospital without the Special leave of the Court
And there being but one Engine Weaver now in the Hospital It is Order'd
That another may be Admitted to be a Candidate for one of the Appartments
now Vacant

Upon Reading the Proposal of John Holditch< no role > & Benjamine Rushton< no role > of
Bridewell Precinct Cyder merchants SettingforthThat they are desirous of
takeing the House late in Occupation of James Heather< no role > Bookbinder (No. 5c. ) in the
sd. Precinct for One Year certain and 6 Months Wareing at the same rent which
Mr. Heather paid, The Governors putting it into Tenantable repair, And to
Comence from Midsumer next, Or as soon as it shall be so Repair'd It is
Order'd That it be referr'd to the Comittee of this House to Consider of the
said Proposal And to Report their Opinion thereon to the Court.
