Mr. Oliver Acton< no role > Steward of this Hospital Acquainted the Court that an dd of Comon
Council of Lond on was made the 4th. of July 1712Byon of Quin Ann Beachcross Mayor
Intitled and Act Concerning Foreigners were by Several [..] of £5 on have [..] for
different Offences mentioned in the Act and for which an Action is given to be brought in the
name of the Chamberlain and the Act [..] That one Merely of all [..] served
by Virtue of the Act shall after Receipt thereof be paid and delivered to the Trear of the Hospital
of Bridewell for the use of the said HospitalThat 4th. of Septr. 1747 An Action was brought
on this Act against Mr Lincold Shadwell and on the 10th. of Octr. following the Cause was
Fired and a Verdict given against him and on the 20th. of Octr. The penalty of £3 recovered and
Costs of Suit was paid to Mr. Hussey the Attorney for the pttThat many other Actions
have of late Years been brought against [..] of London upon this [..] and on some
Cases the prosecutor who is aways some Observe Person has [..] with the Dept for
a Small Sume & in other Cases the whole penalty has been paid but not one Penny has never
yet been paid to the use of Jude on the Hospital as he could Corn and hereby the Act of Comon
Council is made an ill us of the Hospital defrauded and the City [..] Whereupon
It is Ordered that the Steward do Ask Mr. Hussey why he has not paid So part of the said
penalty of £5 recovered against Mr. Shadwell to the Trear of this Hospital land desire the said
Mr. Hussey the same forth with to Edward Holloway< no role > Esqr . The. Treasurer [..]
Copy to Mr. Ashford Mr. Acton Etc

Upon Reading an Order of Court of the 16th. of Octr. 1746 That no boy be taken by any
Artsmaster upon likeing without Order of the ComitteeIt is Now Ordered That for the
future no boy be taken be any Artsmaster upon likeing without the Order of the President
Treasurer or Auditor [..] or the Comittee of this Houses
