Upon reading the humble Petition of John Palmer< no role > of St. Andrews Holborn
Carpenter settingforthThat the Governors by Indre of Lease bearing date
the 8th. day of June 1738 Demised to the Petr. a peice of Ground whereon these
brick Messuages were lately erected and built situate and being on the last side
of Water street in the Precinct of the Hospital of Bridewell abutting Northward
on Crown Alley and Southward on a Message or Tenement in the Occupation of
Cloves and Westward on ground belonging to the Duke of Dorsett containing
in front from North to South towards Water street 33 feet and 4 Inches of Assize
little more or less and the rest of the said Ground being irregularTo hold
for be Years from Xmas 1751 at a Pepper Corn Rent the first Year and £12 for the
remainder of the Term clear of TaxesThat the Petr. hath borrowed of
Susanna Slater< no role > of the parish of St. George Hanover square Widow the Sum of
£500 and is desirous of Demising or Assigning to the said Susannah Slater< no role > the
premisses above granted, by any of Mortgage as a Security for the repayment of
the said money for a Term not exceeding the Term granted to the Petr. as a former's
And praying that to may have leave to demise or assign the said primes
to the said Susanna Slater accordinglyIt is Ordered that the said
Mr Palmer have the Leases of this Court to demise or assign the said provide
to the said Susanna Slater Accordingly./.

Upon reading the humble Petition of John Palmer< no role > of the parish of St Andrews
Holborn Carpenter settingforthThat he is Serious to take a Lease or Leases
of one House on the North side of Tuder street next the East Corner house four
houses fronting Fleetditch from the Corner of Tuder Street and two Houses [..]
the ditch being the second and third from the Hospital back Gate SouthAnd
the said Messengers being very much decayed it will cost £300. to put them into
Tenant able a pairThe Petr. therefore proposes to take a Lease or Leases
thereof for the term of 31 Years to commence from Xmas next and to pay the
Yearly Rent of £21. clear of Taxes by Quarterly payments and to lay out £300. in
repairing the premis and to pay a Time of £30. and to accept a Lease at his Charge
with suit Covenants as are usually contained in Leases from the Govrs. to their
Tenants and also a Covenant to pay to the Chappell Wardens of the said Hospital &
Precinct for the time being any Sum or Sums of money Quarterly in proportion with
other Occupyers of Ground and Houses in the said Precinct toward the Charge of
the Scavenger Watch and Poor of the said Hospital and Precinct as shall be rated
or assessed from time to time at the usual Meetings of the Chappell Wardens and
Inhabitants of the said Hospitall and Precinct and to [..] te a Counterpart of [..]
Lease or LeasesAnd praying the Govrs to great him a Lease or Leases according
to his said proposalsIt is Ordered that it be referred to the Comittee of
this House to consider of the said Proposals & to made their Report to the Court./.

Mr. Deputy Child one of the Governors of their Hospitals reporting to this Court
that in Prisoners of an order of Court the 23d of March 1737. He had made
Enquiry and found that James Farnsworth< no role > who served his Apprenticeship in this
Hospital is out of for himself in the Trade of a Weaver and hath the Character of
a dilligent put and sober man It is Ordered that the Steward of this Hospital
to give and pay unto the said James Farnsworth< no role > . Ten pounds out of Mr Lock's
Gift to be allowed him in his next Account./.
