Upon reading the humble Petition of the four Beadles & Petersman of this Hospital
for their usual Gratuitys of Forty Shillings a peice in respect of the half year ending at
Midsr. last for that their Salarys are but small It is Ordered that the Clerk of
these Hospitals do give & pay unto them forty Shillings a piece to be allowed him in his next
accot.

Basketmens Gra ½ year to
Midsr. 1734}


Upon reading the humble Petition of the three Beadles or Basketmen of the Hospital
of Bethlem for their usual Gratuitys of Twenty Shillings a peice in respect of the
half year ending at Midsumer last for that their Salarys are but small It is Order'd
that the Clerk of these Hospitals do give & pay unto them Twenty Shillings a piece
to be allowed him in his next account.

In Persuance of an Order of the last Court This Court took into Consideration
the Petition of Mr. John Wheeler< no role > Surgeon praying that his Son may be his Assistant
And there upon the Question being put Whether or no an Assistant Surgeon be admitted
It passed in the Negative.

Mr: Treasurer acquainted this Court That the Reverend Mr. Blackborne
came to a Grand Comittee at Bethlem Hospital on Friday 21st. June 1734 and
acquainted them that Mr. Thomas Richardson< no role > late one of the Governors of these
Hospitals deceased having by his Will bequeathed to Mrs. Elizabeth Longford< no role > whom
he made so to Executrix thereof all his Estate whatsoever during her life & after her
decease To the President Treasurer and Governors for the time being of the Hospital
of Bridewell In Trust for the use & benefit of the said Hospital The said Mrs.
Longford had already receiv'd about £1000. in Money of the said Testators Estate
which She was unwilling to put out upon Securities which may happen to be precarious
or defective but chose rather to pay the same into the hands of the Treasurer for the
benefit of the said Hospital In Case the Governors woud please to allow her
Interest for the same after the rate of £5. in the hundred by the year for his
life by quarterly paymentsAnd that the said Comittee taking the matter into
Consideration were unanimously of Opinion that it woud be for the Security & benefit
of the Hospital to take the money and to allow Mrs. Longford £5. P Cent Interest
for her life but Conceiving they were not impower'd to make such an Agreement
with her They desired Mr. Treasurer to receive such money as Mrs. Longford
should think fit to pay him & to give her his Note to allow her such Interest
for the same for her life as she and the Governors should agree upon at the
