before this Court from the Hempblocks where they had been eight days of Work by Order
of the Comittee of this House for neglecting to go to Chappell or wear their Bands & refusing
to go to School in their Turns as they were Ordered to do It is Ordered that they be
continued to Labour untill the next Court unless Mr. President or Mr. Treasurer shall
think fit to discharge them sooner.

in ye News papers, for ye erecting
a New Building at ye West end
of Bethlem Hospl for Incurables}


Upon reading a Report from the Grand Comittee of Bethlem Hospital bearing
date the 6th. Instant in the words following to witIn persuance of an Order of Court
holden at the Hospital of Bridewell on Friday ye. 28th. June last whereby It is referred to this
Comittee to consider of a Plan for a new building to the erected at the West end of this
Hospital for the harbouring of Incurable Lunatick Patients and to lay the same before
the Court This Comittee are of Opinion (nomine contradicente) that a new Building be
erected at the West end of this Hospital for the harbouring of Incurable Lunatick Patients
answerable to the Building already erected for that purpose at the Eastend and that the
most proper method of proceeding on the said Plan would be to cease an Advertizement to be
published in some of the daily News papers to the following effect Vizt.The President
Treasurer & Governors of Bethlem Hospital having been encouragd to proceed to the
erection of a New Building at the West end of the said Hospital for the harbouring of
Incurable Lunatick Patients Have come to a resolution to receive proposals for the building
apartments for that purpose to be answerable to the Building already erected for the like
purpose at the East end of the said Hospitaland notice is hereby given that she
Comittee of Governors will meet at the said Hospital ontheday of
to receive proposals accordingly All which is nevertheless submitted to the
Judgment of the Court And it is ordered that this Opinion be reported to the next Court
This Court doth confirm the said Report And it is Ordered that
Advertizements be inserted accordingly in such of the News papers as the said Comittee
shall think fit and the said Comittee and desired to report to this Court their proceedings
from time to time in order to the erection of such new Building.

Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of this Hospital bearing date the 2d.
day of May last under the hands of The Right Worshipfull Robert Alsop< no role > Esqr . Alln.
Sherriffe & Treasurer Mr. Deputy Valentine Brewis< no role > Mr. Allen Webb< no role > Mr. Robert Hall< no role >
Mr. William Brent< no role > Mr. John Cooke< no role > & Mr. Robert Pycroft< no role > in the words following
Vizt.Mr. George Bass< no role > proposd to take a Lease of the House wherein he now
dwells in Bridewell Precinct (late lett on Lease to John Payne< no role > No. 11.) from the
expiration of the last Lease which was Midsumer last and to pay £8. P Ann Rent clear
of Taxes and a Fine of Sixty Guineas & to execute a Counterpart of the Lease with
usual Covenants for one & twenty YearsThis Comittee are of opinion to recept the
proposal of the said Mr. Basse whereupon he gave half a Guinea to the Poors Boxall
which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment of the Court And it is Ordered that this
Opinion be reported to the next CourtThis Court dose confirm the said Report and
Order that a Lease be made to the said Mr. Bass accordingly.
