Upon Reading a Report of the Comee of this house under the
hands of John Tayler< no role > Esqr . Trear . sr . Francis Forbes< no role > Auditor
General John Martyn< no role > Esqr . Mr. Chrisr. Bateman< no role > John Cottle< no role >
Esqr . Mr. William Grubb< no role > & Thomas Rawlinson< no role > Esqr . dated the
15th. day of this instant March in the words followingMr
William Dixon< no role > agent for Mary Mount< no role > Relict & Executive of
Jeremy Mount< no role > deced Late Clerk of these hospitals haveing formerly Pposed
to the Comee of this house on [..] behalfe of ye sd. Mr. Mount that the
should pay £700 in full of all demands which ye Governor . of these
hospitals might have in Relation to ye accounts of her Sd. Late husband
but was advised that could not safely pay ye same without a
discharge from Daniel Baker< no role > Esqr . (the Representative of his father
formerly Trear of these hospitals) who would not give her a Discharge till
all accounts were adjusted & finished between him & ye Governor .
of these hospitals The sd. Mr. Dixon (haveing notice for that purpose)
attended this Comee & being told that ye accounts between ye Governours
Mr. Baker were now likely to be soon settle & he acquainted ye Comee
that on ye 30th of Augt. Last ye sd Mr. Mount had transferred to him
Six hundred pounds stock in the million Bank which she was willing he
Should assign over with the Interest from Midsumr. Last for the use of ye
Governours in case they will please to accept ye same in full discharge of
all accounts and demands agt. her as Executive of her sd. husband That
when he offered the said Seven hundred pounds he at the Same time intended
and declared it was to be with a deduction of One hundred pounds which ye
Governor . of these hospitals at a Court holden the 10th of February 1698
were pleased to order should be given to her Children upon ye makeing
up of her accounts That this was ye utmost She was able to do being
in a very weak infirm Condition and haveing scarce a necessary
subsistance besides this Money And considering that there had been
a suit many years depending in Chancery for ye Settling ye sd. Mr Mounts
accounts and the accounts of the said Mr Treasr. Baker who both
happened to dye about ye same time which suit is Still Indetermine by
reason their accounts were so intermixt & intricate that it was
difficult to distinguish the same or to make out a Clear distinct
Charge agt. them, This Comee are of Opinion to accept of the said
proposeal which nevertheless is Submitted to the Judgment of the
Court This Court doth Confirm the said Report & Order
That Mr. Treasr. Tayler do accept a Transferr of the said Six
hundred pounds Million Bank Stock in full discharge of all accts.
& demands of ye Governours of these hospitals agt. the said Mary
that thereupon the Bond given by the sd Jeremy Mount< no role > when
he was admitted Clerk of the hospitals be delivered up to be Cancelled
if Mr. Baker well Consent And all Suites at Law & in Equity in relative
to the premisses are from hence forth to Cease
