of London to be admitted Artsmasters
of the said hospital of Bridewell
It was resolved to Choose
two of them And ye Court being informed that the Said James
Mowrey was given to Gameing he was called into Court &
acknowledged he had play'd Sometimes but Said he did not
use it and he being withdrawn the Question was put that
he be put in nomination to be and it passed in the
NegativeThen the said Thomas Swinburn, Thomas
Serjeant< no role >
and Obadiah West< no role >
were. Severally put in noiation
For two of them to be elected Artsmasters of this hospital
and the plurality if hands appeared for Thomas Swinburn
& Obadiah West< no role >
Whereupon It is Ordered That the
said Thomas Swinburn< no role >
and Obadiah West< no role >
be admitted
Artsmasters
of this hospital they respectively giveing
Such Security as in the like Cases is usual and entring into
the usual Covenants with a New Covenant to be added that
they will not Sett up or Use any Engine Looms in this
hospital and that the Journeymen which they Shall employ
in their Said Trades Shall be Such persons as have Served
their Apprenticeships in this hospital And they are to have
Such appartments as ye Comee of this house Shall direct

Ordered that all Petitions for Artsmasters for the
future be referred to the Consideration of the Comittee of this
house Some convenient time before any Election of artsmars.
be appointed that the Comittee may enquire after the Petr and
Report to the Court what Characters they hear of them
And it is further Ordered that an Advertisement be published
before any Artsmasters are chosen
