The Examination of Eliz Lucas Lodging in the
Parish of St. Clemt. Danes in the County of Middx
taken the first Day of Novr. 1740 Who upon her Oath
Saith She is a Singlewoman & was never marryed &
that she lived a Yearly hired Servt . with one Mr.
Martin at the Golden Key the Corner of white Hart
Yard for the Space of one Year & upwards at the Yearly
Wages of five Pounds & hath left her sd. Service abt ten
Years to her now best Remembrance & further saith
that since she left her sd. Service She hath not rented
ten Pounds a Year pd. Parish Taxes lived a Yearly
hired Servt. with any Person for one Year or otherwise
gained a Settlement in any other Place to her
knowledge or beleife & is poor & not able to maintain
herselfe
