It being signified to this Court by Thomas Lane< no role > Esquire one of the
Justices of the Peace for this County here present That his Grace the Duke
of Newcastle late Lord Lieutenant and Custos Rotulorum of this County is
desirous to take and subscribe the Oaths of Allegiance Supremacy and
abjuration and the Declaration against Transubstantiation in the
Sacrament of the Lords Supper and that it would be agreeable to his
Grace to take the same at his own House His Majestys Justices of the
Peace out of their respectfull remembrance of the many signal instances
of goodness and condeseension shewn to the Commission by his Grace while
Lord Lieutenant and Custos Rotulorum of this County Do hereby Order
That this present session be adjourned to NewCastle House on Wednesday
next at Ten o'Clock in the Forenoon (Which day and hour they are informed
will be most convenient to his Grace) not with standing the Order of Session
made the 17th. day of September 1761 to the contrary and that John
Hawkins
< no role > Esquire Chairman and the said Mr. Lane be and they are hereby
desired to hold the said Session by Adjournment and Administer the said
Oaths and Tender the said Declaration to his Grace accordingly.
