Railing 4 by 3. 26 Ends Trussell Heads 6 ft. Long lined on the up Side
with 4 Inch plank 15 Inches wide well pitched & Tarred 24 bases
fixed on the lineings of the Heads 5 ft. Long each 6 Inches by 4
to set the feet of the Braces on. 60 ft. of 3 Inch plank 9 Inches wide
with 9 Braces on each Side 3 ft. Long each fix up to Secure the
Ends of the Long Joysts over the great pen.

To 140 ft. of 3 Inch plank to brace the piles, with Nails & Work
To 208 ft. of 3 Inch plank to line the piles on each Side the great
Peir or Barge way.

To 5 Iron Shoes to the 5 New piles and to repair and make good
all Iron work as shall be wanting in the same goodness as they were
first done

To pitch and Tan the posts & Rails & Gravell Sills.

NB. No pollard oak to be used in any part of the said Work or any Old Materialls to
be used but what the Surveyor shall approve off

Upon reading the Report of James Clitherow< no role > Thomas Moore< no role > and Richard
Ricards
< no role > Esqrs. being a Quorum of the Committee of his Majestys
Justices of the peace for the County of Middx appointed to meet a Committee
of Justices of the peace for the County of Surry concerning the
repairing Chertsea Bridge as well for the County of Middx as
for the County of Surry at one and the same time And that it
was the Opinion of both the Committees that the same ought
to be begun the beginning of April 1744 and also touching
the Account or estimate of the repairs necessary to be done to
the Middx side of Chertsea Bridge which was delivered by
Mrs. Steadman a Surveyor who viewed the same and whom
both the said Committees for Middx & Surry resolved & agreed
to be Surveyor of the Reparations to be done to the said Bridge
a copy of which Estimate is annexed to the said Report It is
Ordered by this Court that the said Report be confined And
that any Workman who is willing to undertake to do the
said Repairs may be at Liberty to inspect the said Estimate
and to leave his proposall in Writing Sealed up with Mr.
John Higgs< no role > Treasurer for the County of Middx at his House
in Southampton Buildings for what Sum of Money he will
do and perform the said Repairs in a good Substantial and
Workman like manner, and find and provide good Sound timber
Stone Brick Iron Gravel and other Materialls for that purpose
to the intent such proposall may be laid before the Court of
Sessions of the peace for the said County for their direction
and in Order to have a proper Constant and agreement
