Sept 8th. 1743.

he will do and perform the said repairs in a good Substantial and
Workman like manner and find & provide good sound Timber, Stone,
Bricks, Iron, Gravel, and other Materials for that purpose, to the
intent such proposal may be laid before the Court of Sessions of the
Peace for the said County for their direction and in Order to have a
proper contract and agreement in such behalf made, All which
we Submitt to the Consideration of the Court

The Estimate of the necessary Costs & charges for the repairing the
Middx Side of Chertsea Bridge

To more off the Gravell on the Bridge & digging against the Wharfing
& brest of the Bridge to make way for the putting down piles Land tyes,
& Planking & filling up again and laying on the Gravell & bringing
more to compleat the Gravelling the Bridge to the Top of the Gravell
Sill 6 Inches using and brest Work to the Road after the Carpenters
Work is finished.

To take up the old posts Rails and Braces and lay them by and take
up the Gravell Sills and all the planking and also the Joysts as lye
over the Trussell heads as are to be taken out to drive down new
piles being the 1st. 5th. 6th & 9th

To drive down New piler that are wanting (Viz)LengthInches
In the 1st. Ten of piles next the Wharf 1 New pile21 ft. 12 Sqr.
5 Ten of piles next the Wharf 2 New pile28 ft. 12 Sqr.
6 Ten of piles next the Wharf 1 New plie33 ft. 16 Sqr.
9 Ten of piles next the Wharf 1 New pile36 ft. 16 Sqr.
in all 5 New piles

And to put on the Trussell heads again with two New ones that are
wanting in the Room of two that are decayed 25 ft. Long each 13 by 12
in the brest of the Bridge 9 New piles wanting 14 ft. Long each 1 ft.
Sqr . & to plank behind them with the Old planking taken off the
Bridge that shall be found sound & fit for the use

To wharf the lower side of the Bridge 22 ft. in length with 15 New
Piles cut & by 8 with 22 ft. of Camshed cut 12 by 6 & to plank the same
with the old planking taken of the Bridge with 4 Land keys, Needles
& Stakes. a Return of 12 ft. to be done with Old Materials as is
Sound & 22 ft. of Needleing 5 by 3 with Spikes and Workmanship.

To fix down all the Joysts as shall be taken up and make good what
shall be wanting with Nails & Workmanship.

To 1540 ft. of 3 Inch Oak planking clear of Sap to the top of the Bridge
with Nails & Workmanship.

To 220 ft. of Gravell Sill cut 14 by 6 clear from Sap fixed down in
a Substantial manner with Nails & Work.

To 220 ft. of Posts & Rails (Viz) the 4 Truss posts over the great Peir
to be 7 ft. Long each 11 Inches Sqr. the 2 top Rails 9 ft. Long each
9 by 8. 4 braces 11 ft. Long each 9 by 8. 24 posts 8 ft. Long each
10 Inches Sqr. 12 braces 7 ft. Long each 9 by 3. 10 prick posts 4 ft.
Long each 6 by 9. 202 ft. of top Railing 6 by 5 & 440 ft. of Small
