Court being Satisfyed of the truth thereof Doth Order the Same
accordingly And that Mr. Samuel Jaycock< no role > of Clerkenwell
Baker (who Serveth the House ofHouse Keeper of Hicks hall
with bread) be employed to bake & provide bread (to wit) one
pennyworth of bread every day for each Prisoner in the
Said House of Correction, And in Order to be informed what
quantity of bread will be necessary from time to time to be
provided the Said Samuel Jaycock< no role > is in the evening of every
day by himself or his Servant to inquire of the Keeper of the
Said House of Correction what quantity of bread will be
necesssary & proper to be provided and to be distributed to the
Prisoners therein the next day, (to wit) one pennyworth of
bread to each Prisoner, which the Keeper of the Said House is
required from time to time to distributed accordingly And
this Court doth further Order that the Said Keeper do on
Saturday in every Sessions of the peace for the Said County
(being the usual day of dischargeing Prisoners out of the Said
House of Correction ) deliver in a lift to the Court of Sessions of
the number of Prisoners he hath had in his Custody from the
Saturday of the last preceding Sessions to the Saturday upon
which he delivers in Such list, with an Account of the Number
of days each Prisoner was confined, and how many one
pennyworths of bread each Prisoners received, And It is
further Ordered by this Court that Such Sum of Money as the
Justices of the peace present at the Gaol Delivery of the Said
Prison or any two of them Shall upon their examination
find and by writing under their hands certify to be due & owing
to the Said Samuel Jaycock< no role > for the bread by him delivered at
the Said Prison from the Saturday of a Preceding Sessions to the
Saturday in the next ensueing Sessions to be distributed by the
Keeper to the Prisoners therein according to the Proportion of
one pennyworth of bread every day to each Prisoner as aforesaid
Shall be from time to time be paid by the Treasurer of the Said
County unto the Said Samuel Jaycock< no role > and be from time to
time allowed to the Said Treasurer upon his account.
