water came into the Grand Jury Room for want of a Penthouse to
carry the Said rain off from the Door or Step going into the Grand
Jury Room, the erecting of which cost eighteen Shillings, and
which tho' Mr. Norcott the Housekeeper had no express Orders
for, Yet as it was absolutely necessary and is of great Service &
use the Committee are of opinion that the Said Sum of
eighteen Shillingssaid which tho' Mr. Norcott the Housekeeper .
[..] ought to be allowed Mr. Norcott,
And that where the windows were broke and the pulleys and
lives bad in the Great Dining Room Mr. Norcott had Orders from
the Committee imediatly to amend & repair them, it being
necessary they Should be finished by the present Session, And that
the bill on that account amounts to
which bill the Committee are of opinion ought and they hope
will be forthwith paid And that it being further referred to
the Committee to make an estimate of what the charge will be
to repair & amend the Same the Committee are of opinion
that the Several Articles above named cannot be purchased
amended repaired & discharged under the Sum of of
All which the Committee Submitted to the
consideration of this Court, Now upon reading the said Report
This Court doth Order that it be And It is hereby referred to the said
Committee to direct and Order the goods & things above Specifyed
which are decayed, or worn, or out of repair to be forthwith
repaired and amended, and that a new green cloth be provided
for the Great Dining Room and also another green cloth to
cover the table in the Court, And that a Velvet cover be provided
to cover the cushion in the chair in Court and to direct the
curtains to be cleaned and Such other matters & things as are
above Specifyed to be wanting to be bought & provided at as little
an expence as can be reasonably affored.
