Esqrs
. being a Quorum of
the Committee of his Maties Justices of the peace
of this County
appointed to take the accounts of the Treasurers & high
Constables of the Said County, and also appointed by Order
of Court to examin & certify what Sum of money was
justly due to
William Scotcher< no role >
late Constable
of Stanwell
in this County for his trouble & expences in passing and
releiving of Vagrants, which by his petition to the
Court of Sessions he mentioned to amount to about
four or five pounds, as would appear by his Certificates of
allowance, and by his Said
Reportpetition prayed payment
thereof, It appeareth to this Court by the Said Report that the
Said Justices did take into consideration the said Petition,
And by their Said Report they do certify to this Court That
there did not appear to them any Certificate of
allowances from any one of his Maties Justices of the
peace for this County for the passing of any Vagrant as
the Law in such case directs, And it appeared to them
that the dmands of the Said
William Scotcher< no role >
are
thirteen years ago, And that the Committee not Seeing
the accounts of those times It did not appear to them
but those Certificates were allowed and paid
thirteen years ago, And that therefore the Committee
conceived that the Said
William Scotcher< no role >
ought not
to be allowed & paid what he prayed by his petition,
This Court upon consideration had of the said Report
Doth agree thereto, And doth not think fit to make
any Order for paying to the Said
William Stotcher< no role >
the
money mentioned in his Said petition.
