Justices of the Peace
of this County being a Quorum of the
Committee Appointed by an Order made at the General
Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden at Hicks Hall
in
St. John Street
in & for the said County by Adjornment on
Thursday the twenty second day of July last to treat and
contract with some Able and Experienced Workman or
Workmen for the Effectual repairing of a Publick bridge
called Brentford Bridge
in the parish of Hanwell
in
this County It Appeareth by the said Report that in
pursuance of the said Order They the said Sr.

Writing Indented bearing date the tenth day of August
last made Between them and

Contract with the said
William Butler< no role >
for
his well and Sufficiently and in a Substantial manner
repairing and Amending the said Bridge, And for
his finding and providing, timber, Nails, Spikes
bricks, lime and other Materialls necessary to be Used
in & about the same And that in consideration of the said
repairs Etc so to be done & performed by the said William
Butler and in pursuance of the said Order they did
by the said Writing Covenant and Agree

[..] to pay to the said Butler the Sum of £177:8s: (to wit)
£60. part thereof at the Ensealing & Delivery of the said
Writing (which Sum of £60. he hath reced of Mr. John
Higgs the Treasurer of the Moneys raised by the rate
made for repairing the said Bridge) And the Sum of
£117:8s. the remainder of the said Sum of £177:8s: within
ten days next after such General or General Quarter
Sessions of the peace for the said County as should happen
next after the said Bridge should be Effectually
repaired And that the said Sum of £117:8s or any part
thereof hath not been paid to the said
