hands and Seals are hereunto Sett two of his Majties. Justices of
the peace for the City of London (Quorum unus) by the
Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
Allhallows on the Wall

arelately come into the
said Parish endeavouring to Settle there contrary to Law and
unless timely prevented are likely to become chargeable
thereunto which We do adjudge to be true. and forasmuch
as it appeareth unto us the said Justices upon the Oath of
the said Margarett Curtis That whilst she was a Singlewoman she lived
for several Years as a Covenant yearly Servant with one Mr. Les in the Parish
of Deptford
in the County of Kent
at £5 P Anno Wages the Settlement of
her late husband upon a Strict Examinacon not being to be found
and no other legal Settlement
elsewhere appearing unto us Since. We do also adjudge the
said Parish of Deptfordto be the place of their last
legal Settlement
These are therefore in his Majesty's name to will & require
you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
Parish of St Allhallows on the Wall forthwith to remove and convey
the said Margarett Curtis wish Alice her Child
from out of your said parish unto the said parish of Deptford
and her deliver unto the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor there Some or one of them who are
hereby required to receive and provide for her according to
Law. Given under or hands and Seals this First day of
