Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us whose
hands and Seals are hereunto Sett two of his Majties Justices of
the peace for the City of London (Quorm Unus) by the
Churchwarden and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of
St Mary Staining

lately come into the
Said Parish endeavouring to Settle there contrary to Law and
unless timely prevented are likely to become chargeable
thereunto which We do adjudge to be true and for as much
as it appeareth unto us the said Justices upon the Oath of
Mary Edgerton< no role >
his daughter in law that the said Richard
Clever rented and dwelt in a house of upwards of Ten
pounds p Ann
[..] rent in the parish of St Giles without
Cripplegate
Londonand no other legal Settlement
elsewhere appearing unto in Since We do also adjudge the
said parish of St Giles without Cripplegate to be the place of then last
legal Settlement

These are therefore in his Majesty's name to will & exquire
you the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor of the said
Parish of St Mary Staining - forthwith to remove and to very
the said Richard Clever with Dorcas his wife
from out of your said parish unto the said parish of St Giles
wthout Cripplegate and them deliver unto the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor there Some or one of them who are
hereby required to receive and provide for them according to
Law. Given under our hands and Seals this 22d day of
November Anno Din 1723
