The Information of Thomas Clemons of Kinsland in the Parish of
St. John at Hackney clerk to Messrs Boreham & C [..] of Earle Street
Black fryers London Brickmakers [..] and Thomas Farnsworth< no role >
of Chambers Street Whitechapel Bricklayer taken this 21st day of Feby 1788

Who being on their Oaths say and first the said Thomas Farnsworth< no role > for himself saith
on the 9th: day of February Instant between the hours of Eight and nine in the
morning the person present who says his name is Richard Parker< no role > came to his
house situate as aforesaid and asked this Informant if he [..] Rubbish to Cart for
that he could carry it away very reasonable having nothing to do with his Horses
says he told him he had not any to carry, That said Richard Parker< no role > then asked him
if he wanted to buy any bricks who asked him where they was and understood by
his Answers they were in Permington Street or there abouts says he asked Parker if they
were all Bats who said they were most whole Bricks and that this Informant might give
him what he pleasedThat he went and Shewed him a place in Mill Yard near
where to put the said Bricks which he had not then seen Says he Returned home
and soon after went toward Mill Yard and saw they were new Bricks and putting down into his place in said yard he
went and fetched an Officer and Joshua Shingles< no role > a master Bricklayer and then
gave said Officer charge of Richard Parker< no role > and his Companion who made his Escape
That by the persuasion of the said Officer and Shingles he received the said Bricks
and liberated Parker and immediately enquired for the Owner of the Bricks
Says the said Richard Parker< no role > and his Master John Pigott have several times called
on him for One pound six Shillings for the said Bricks which he refused paying for
because they demanded more mony than said Bricks were worth or he would
payhave paid for them on giving a Receipt for the said Company which Bricks
he has shewn to Thomas Clemons< no role >

Thos. Farnsworth< no role >

Thomas Clemons< no role > on his Oath saith he has seen the Bricks in the possession of
Thomas Farnworth< no role > which are common Stocks as termed by the Trade and were
loaded on the 8th of Feby Instant into the Cart of John Pigott the Driver Richard
Parker
< no role > who received them into the said Cart to go to Mr. Booth in Chiswell
Street Moorfield with which The said John Pigott< no role > Richard Parker< no role > had a Ticketh the Copy
of Which is now produced by this Informant

Thos: Clemons< no role >

The said Richard Parker< no role > says he lost the Ticket which he received of the said
Bricks on the Eigth of February Instant of Mr. Clemons< no role > and made a mistake
in carrying them to Permington Street the same day where he met with Mr.
Farnsworth and going home with the Bricks again he asked Farnsworth if he would
have them who said Yes. Knowing he was a Man who bought things in that way as he
has been informedSays that having delivered some of the said Bricks he after refused
on seeing the Officer and Shingles that he offered to pay for them and that he bed him
pay his Master or the Company at Kingsland That the Reason he did not tell
Mr Clemons to charge the Bricks to Farnworth is because he had not seen
him since
