High Street in the said County Victualer
taken this 14th.
day of Jany. 1788 Before me one of His Majestys Justices
of the Peace
in and for the said County Who being on Oath Saith That
hadhaving had several Quart Pewter pots stolen within the last Week he
suspected the Prisoner who says her name is

to be the
person who took them which determined him to Watch and that
this day between the hours of One and Two in the Afternoon she was
served with a penny worth of Two penny and afterwards went Backward
says in his Yard was the pot produced and several other pots That
on her Return he saw her take the pot produced which is his property
and go back towards the necessary the second time where she was several minutes and
then came into his tap Room and steal about Quarter of an hour
when she got up went out of his said house he following her until she came
opposite Mr. Stradlings house in the said Street and then he stopt her charging
her with having taken a pot of his which she denyed saying he might
search herSays he searched and found the said Pot tyed under Petty coat
That he cut the Ribbon with which it was tyed and secured her
