The Informations of John Morgan< no role > Joshua Purduce< no role > and Joseph Smith< no role > Robert Win stainless
taken on oath before Herbert Whitfields< no role > Esquire one of His Majesties Justices
of the Peace for the said County, And first John Morgan< no role > for himself saith
that on the 25th. Day of November Instant about half an Hour after six o'clock
in the Evening as he was going from Charing Cross towards the Strand
Just opposite the End of Saint Martins Lane he saw the Man now present
who calls himself Thomas Gibbs< no role > Standing with two Women, that Robert
Winstanley
< no role > (who is as well as this Informant a Sewent to William Bennister< no role >
a Callicoc & Glazer) was with him and had a bundle upon his head containing
two prices of Callicoe and several other Articles which they were taking
to their masters to be glased and this Inst. further saith that the
Prisoner came behind the sd. Winstanley caught hold of the parcel and
pulled it from of his head that the sd. Winstanley in endeavouring to
recover the parcel received a Violent blow from the Prisoner which knocked
him down that while he was down the Prisoner Kicked him in the
Eye, that during the Scuffle the two Women who were taking with
the Prisoner ran off with the Parcel And this Inst. further saith
that on his endeavouring to help his fellow servant the sd. Winstanley
the Prisoner caught him by the throat that this Infort. endeavoured
to Ann away and the Prisoner following turn several Persons came
to his Assistance and one Joseph Smith< no role > took the sd Prisoner and lodged
him in the Watch House, And this Inst. further saith that he lost out
of his pocket the Linen Handkerchief now produced which he this
Inst. has been told and believes was found upon the prisoner agt whc
was taken to the watch House, And this Inst. further saith that he never
lost sight of the Prisoner from the beginning of the scuffle untill he
was secured in the Watch House aforesaid.

Robert Winstanley< no role > for himself saith that on the 25th. Day of November Instant
as he was carrying a Parcell Just opposite the End of Saint Martins Lane
in the Strand he received a violent blow upon the back part of his heard
that he then Struck at the Person now present who calls himself Thomas
Gibbs
< no role > when he was knocked down and kicked Violently in the Eye
