The Information of Martin Redmond< no role > of Gillingham in the
County of Kent Labourer Margaret Foy< no role > the Wife of John Foy< no role >
of Ratcliff Highway St. George Middlesex Broker Elizabeth the wife
of James Dye< no role > of the same place Geoman taken this 10th day of July 1788 before
me One of His Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the said County who
being on Oath say and first the said Martin Redmond< no role > for himself saith
last night between the hours of Eight and nine he went into the house of
James Dye< no role > had some Wine charged a Bant note and then went about the hear
of nine to the House of Margaret Foy< no role > and some time after went up Stairs
with the person present who says her name is Sarah Sophia Arm Brown
That he had at that Time a Twenty pound Bank nose and a Ten pound
Bank nose which were pinned to his Waistcoat pocket on the left side and nine
Guineas some Silver how much he cannot Say in his Breeches pocket
That he layd down upon the Bed and fall asleep and about the hour of
Ten awoke missed his mony and challenged her the said Sarah Sophia Ann
Brown
< no role > with taking his said monyThat Mr. Foy was called who
came up Stairs into the Room who he told that he had been robbed by
Brown of Nine Guineas and some SilverThat Mrs. Foy found Five
Guineas ad half a Guinea in the Room which Browne Seized and
endeavoured to get away and throw herself out of the Window
Margaret Foy< no role > on her Oath saith last night about the hour of Nine
Martin Redmond< no role > came to her house and went up Stairs with Sarah
Sophia Ann Brown
< no role > had some Salmon and Wine and that Redmond paid
her five Shillings and six pence for what he had in the house And
a Quarter after Ten shewallswas called up Stairs Redmond complains
that he had been robbed by Brown of Nine Guineas and some Silver
Says she asked Sally if she knew any thing of the Gentleman Mong
who denyed having itThat she scanted the room and found five
Guineas hid in a Card Table Says she took it felling Redmond these
was five Guineas of his mony which Brown told her not to give him
and upon the Table was half a Guinea some Silver a few half pence
Says that Brown own to both Tables took them once's thereon in
her hand and endeavoured to get out of the Window with it Further
says Redmond then missed his Watch when Brown said he had not one
when he came thereRedmond being positive that he had his Watch these
she searched the Bednot finding if there he persisted in not suffering
Brown to go out of the house Brown run to him and thrust the
Silver Watch produced in and indecent manner into the Inside of his Breeches
