The Information of John Goldsmith< no role > of Ratcliff Highway in the
Parish of Saint George Middlesex Labourer Taken this 2d day of
September 1788 Before me John Staples< no role > Esquire one of his Majestys Justices
of the Peace in and for the said County who on his Oath Saith that about
Twelve o Clock last Night he wasSettinga Sleep in Ratcliff Highway
near old Gravel Lane that when he awaked he missed his his hat and
Band a pair of plated Buckles and the Amount Ten Shillings and Six pence in Silver
that he went into a Public House Half Moon and Seven Stars near that
about One o Clock the Prisoner who says his Name is James Robinson< no role > came
into said House with this Deponents Hat in his hand that [..] he
then gave him in Charge to an Officer and further Saith that the hat
Band and Buckles produced are his property

William Dean< no role > upon his Oath Saith about one o Clock this Morning
he took Charge of the Prisoner present that he Searched him and found
the BucklesProdproduced [..] in his Pocket

Prisoner was Brought to the Watch house that he Searched him and found
Eight Shillings in Silverandfour Half pence and the hat Band Produced

the hours of One and Two this Morning of a man at the head of New Gravel Lane for
One Shilling who he doth not know and that the Bad Shilling The half Crown piece and
the four Shilling one Six penny piece produced with the Four half pence are his
property which he received in charge of half Guinea at a Publick house in Ratcliff
highway known by the sign of the Kettle drums one Sunday night last about the hour of
