The Information of Elizabeth
Smith< no role > a Singlewoman taken before me one
of his Majestys Justices of
the peace in and for the
said County

Who being upon Oath saith that she lives a
Servant with one William Hodge< no role > (a Broker ) in
Ratcliff highway in the parish of Saint George
Middx that on Sunday night the fifteenth
of October instant she went up Stairs in
her said Master's House situate as aforesaid
about Eleven oClock and She locked her Room
Door and Put her Candle out and got into
Bed but had not been long when her said Master William Hodge< no role >
came up Stairs and violently broke open
the Door of her said Room came to her
Bed Side with a Candle lighted in his hand
upon which this Informant got up in her
Bed and insisted upon his going down
Stairs he then Immediately put out the
Candle and violently and feloniously
Seizing hold of her throwed her down in the
Bed and stopped her Mouth with his Hand
so that she cou'd not call for any [..]
Assistance he then and there had carnal
Knowledged her Body and actually
Committed a Rape upon her against her
Will and Consent
