The Information of Thomas Rutt< no role >
taken on Oath the Sixteen day of October
1786 before me one of his Majestys Justices of the
Peace for the County of Middlesex .

Who on his Oath Saith That on Friday night last
the 13th. day of October about a Quarter before Seven
OClock as he this Informant and his wife werewasgoing from Moorfields
home to Islington , They were mett near the side of
the New River in the Parish of Islington aforesaid by
two men who appeared to be young men, one of whom
came up to this Informants wife and laid hold of
her hand and said, Softly don't make a noise she
gave herself a spring and got from him and run
towards Islington , Then they both came up to this
Informant, and both seized him by the Collar and
said don't make a noise, and immediately he felt
one of the young men taking his Watch out of his
Pocket with a Chequered string to it and a Gilt
Seal, the Watch is a Metal Watch, [..] in a
Tortoise shell Case makers name of Tompion, he
believes the Callest of the two man took his Watch
and the Short man imbuttned his Breeches Pockett
and took out Two pence and then run away
And further Saith That a Watch and Seal now
produced by John Armstrong< no role > a Peace Officer [..]
[..] is his Watch and the same
that was stolen from him in manner before
mentioned,
