Who being upon Oath say and first the said Sarah Champness< no role >
Says, that about ½ past 2 o'Clock this afternoon a Woman told her
a Man had taken something out of her Garden when she went out and called
out Stop Thief, that a number of Persons immediatly pursued
a person now present who calls himself Joseph Jones< no role >
and secured
him and brought him back, And further says the four Shirts a
Waistcoat and a Petticoat now produced are the Property of her
said husband and were Stolen as aforesaidAnd the said James
Wheeler< no role >
says that on hearing the Cry of Stop Thief he saw said
Jones Running away and drop the bundle containing the Linen
before mentioned when he with others Secured him
