Day of June 1786
And first Anna Ball for Herself says that Her Husband
keeps a House in Tothill Street
, that in a one pair of Stavis
Back Room She keeps her Wearing Apparel that on Friday
last She saw a Flower'd Dark Cotton Gown in the said
Room that She then Locked the Door of the said Room
that there is another Door into the said Room on the Landing
Place which this Informt. had some little time before fastened
with Nails that on Thursday last this Informant going into
the said Room missed the aforesaid Dark Cotton Gown &
other Cloaths le taken out of a Chest in the said Room that
on looking about this Informant saw the said Door which
She had nailed up was broken open that this Informant verily
believes the Persons now Present who call themselves Joseph< no role >
and Ann Denham< no role >
broke open the said Room and Stole
the said property and this Informant further says that a
Swiss Chintz Gown a Black Silk & Cloak with a broad Lace
a pairs of Lace Robbins a small piece of Lace and a Striped
Muslin Apron now produced are her property and was
Stolen from the said Room that the said Joseph Denham< no role >
lodged in a Ready furnished Back Room i [..] two pair of Stairs
in this Informants House ever since the first day of
May last

a Constable
of the Parish of St Margarets Westmr

on Tuesday last the went with a Search Warrant to the
Apartments of Joseph Denham< no role >
that there saw the said
Joseph Denham< no role >
and Ann< no role >
his Wife
that upon telling
them He came to Search their Room for Stolen pro=
=perty of Mrs: Balls that the said Ann Denham< no role >

told his said Wife if She had any
thing to deliver it up that upon Searching the Bed
