The Information of Samuel Wooley< no role > Junior of Air Street
Piccadilly Buckle maker and Jeweller taken
before me this 15th. day of April 1784

Who being upon Oath saith that about 5 o'Clock this
Evening a person now present who calls himself Emanuel Cohen< no role >
Poland came into this Informants Shop in Air Street aforesaid
and desired to look at some Stone Knee Buckles, which were
shewn himThat he looked at several pair of Stone Knee Buckles
and asked the Price of them, but bought none, That during the time
he was talking to said Emanuel Cohen< no role > Poland he several times
perceived a Stone Knee Buckle concealed under his hand
That said Emanuel Cohen< no role > Poland then looked at and bargained for
a pair of Stone Knee Buckles for forty Shillings but bought none
That during the time said Poland was bargaining for said Buckles
this Informant perceived him take up one or more Stone Buckles
and conceal them [..] in the Palm of his HandThat said
Poland then told this Informant that he would leave half a Crown
as earnest for said pair of Buckles which he had been bargaining
for as aforesaidThat said Poland left half a Crown with him
and said he would call again but this Informant suspecting
from the aforesaid Circumstance that said Poland had
robbed him and missing a Stone Buckle pursued him and
apprehended him in Coventry Street and further says that he
doth verily believe that the said Emanuel Cohen Poland< no role >
stole she said Stone Knee Buckle
