Who being upon Oath says that on Monday the Twenty
Sixth Instant between the Stowns of One & Two in the Afternoon He
this Informant was going along the Strand near the New
Church was accosted by a Person now present Who calls himself

-thing like a Purse and told this Informant He thought it was
a Prize and as no person but this Informant saw thin pick
it up He this Informant should have Half of it as He did not
doubt but it this Informant had picked it up He would have given
Him the same that the said John Watson< no role > took this Informant
to a Publick House in Charles Street Long Acre into a Private
Room and calld for Three penny worth of Crank that the said

and out of the said Purse a Bill & Stampd. Receipt for above a
Hundred Pound for a Diamond Ring and a Little Black Box con-

Ring and of Great Value and that He did not doubt but it would
be in the Papers in the Mornings that a Third Person came

his Good Luck the Third Person looked at the Ring said it was

He did not know how to make them Satisfaction for his Share but
that the would go to an Uncle in Town and get some Money that

turned and said his Stunt was gone in the County to Lye in and

this Informant if He had anything about Him of Value or a Wat [..]
to Leave with the Third Person till that Evening Seven oClock
that they all agreed to meet at Robert Jones< no role > 's No 19 Bishop gate Street
that this Informant gave a Watch that had been lent to Him and
Two Shillings & Six pence to the said Third Person that there said
his Name was Robert Jones< no role > and that He wrote the Direction now
produced and said it was his Address, that this Informant then
left them that He went to the Place appointed but could not find any
