The Information of David Richardson< no role > of Wapping Street in the
said County Slopseller John Hinde< no role > of White Chapel High
Street Fin plate Worker andJohn Beng Thomas
Bengough
< no role > of Rosemary Lane in the said
County Haberdasher
taken before us this twenty Seventh of September1783

Who being on their Oaths say and First the said David Richardson< no role >
for himself Saith That on the Evening of the twenty fourth day of
September Inst. a Fire Happened in Wapping Street when the
House of him this Informant together with many others was
Burnt down That at the said Fire this Informanthas
last a great Quantity of Goods Consisting of Jackets Trouser
Check Shirts and other Articles of Slop Work besides what
were Burned in the said Fire That the Several Articles
or Goods now produced by the other Informant the said John Hinde< no role >
consisting of Seven Blue Common Jackets Two Large Blue
Jackets,Nineseven White Flannel Jackets, Six pair of Breeches
Twelve Canvas Trousers, Twelve Checked Shirts, one Marble
Flannel Waistcoat, and one piece of Brown Stuff, are the
Property of him this Informant and were taken away from
his said House at the time of the said Fire That he [..]
clear and positivebelieves that he saw the person now present
who says his Name is Walter Batley< no role > with others very
Active about this Informants House at the same
time

This Informant John Hinde< no role > for himself saith that in the
night of the said 24th day of September between the
Hours of twelve and one having been to see the aforesaid
Fire and returning home, near the End of Virginia Street
Ratcliff Highway in Company with one Thomas Sayer< no role >
he saw a person pass him with a large Bag or
Bundle. That on a Cry of Stop Thief he this Informant
and the said Thomas Sayer< no role > pursued said person with
the sd. Bagor Bundle and came up with him in Neptune Street
near Wellclose square , where they laid hold of and
took him into Custody. That onhis beingtheir seizing
hold of him he Dropped or let fall the said Bundle
which he this Informant at that time left in the Street
in the care of one Thomas Bengough< no role > . That thesaid
