me this 1st. day of August 1783
Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Elizabeth
Robinson< no role >
says that the Silver Spoon now produced is the
property of the said James Dixon< no role >
and was by this Informant
on Wednesday last about two o Clock laid upon a Board
in a Lumber Room in [..] her said Masters House
That a person now present who calls himself John Donaldson< no role >
was sent down the Stairs of her said Masters House
for an empty Cask and in coming up with a Cask
took from off said Board said Spoon. And the said
Thomas Whiteman< no role >
says that he is the Master of
the said John Donaldson< no role >
and that on hearing a Spoon
had been stolen he ordered said John Donaldson< no role >
to
go down into the Beer Cellar as he meant to
search him That when he came into said Cellar
he heard something drop from him which he immediately
found to be the said Silver Spoon.
