THE Information of Elizabeth Myers< no role > of Betts's Street in the
Parish of Saint George Middlesex Widow
Taken this 27th. Day of September 1783 before me
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County

Who being upon Oath saith that on Friday the Twenty ninth day of last
August one John Wycomb< no role > (a prisoner now present) and Mary
Williams
< no role > applied to her this Informant as Man and Wife to Let them a ready
Furnished room andforwhich she agreed with them to do
and let them a Back Garrell at the Rate of Two Shillings Por
Week. and received form the said John Wycomb< no role > One Shilling
as Earnest. That they then took immediate possession thereof
and Continued in the same as Man and wife until Wednesday
the nineteenth of September Inst. on the morning of which day
about six O'Clock she was rang up by the said a Mary Williams< no role >
who upon Informants opening the door to her said she supposed
her husband would be frightened atherStaying out all night but
having been taken Ill bet Mile End she was obliged to Stay there
all night. That the said Mary Williams< no role > then went up Stairs
unto the Garret where the said John Wycomb< no role > then was That
he Wycomb soon after came down Stairs and went out as did the
said Mary Williams< no role > about Eight. That the said John Wycomb
returned again about noon and asked her if his wife was at Home when
She told him She was not. That Wycomb then went up Stairs
and after Staying some Little time came down again went out and
returned again in about half an hour went up stairs and foned
open the door furth a poker taken out of a Lodgers Room on the same Floor (which had been Locked by the said Mary Williams< no role >
who had the Key in her pocket) as she has since been informed and
verily believes. That about Ten Minutes after he Wycomb came
down Stairs more Softly then he was used to do and Informant
being Washing in the Yard heard him go along the Passage
went to look after him at which time he had got to the street
door with the Box (now produced) on his Back. Whereupon
Informant asked him if he was going to move when he
Answered not yet. That he there went out and went away.
That the said Mary Williams< no role > returned between Eight and nine
O Clock in the Evening and upon Informants telling her that her
Husband had been up stair and taken away at Box she exclaimed
She was ruined for ever. she then took the Candle from Informant
and went up Stairs opened the door and came down Immediatly
Said to Informant what Shall I do. I am received for he has taken
