The several Informations of Elizabeth
Tumnor Singlewoman and Peter Bate< no role > Taken
and made on oath before me Rupert Clarke< no role >
Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of the peace
in and for the said County the 13th. day of August 1783

This Informant Elizabeth Summer for herself
Saith That about the hour of 6 o Clock this Morning as the
was going down Tower Street 7 dials in her way to the Strand
She was met by Two Women namely Ann Farmer< no role > and
Elizabeth Jones< no role > who informed her That they were in
distress and asked this Informant to give her One Penny
which She did to Elizabeth Jones< no role > and afterwards this
Informant was induced to go with them to a public house
which She did and treated them with some Spirits, That
this Informant then wanted to come away but was
prevented by the said two Women and was obliged to stay
in the said house for near half an hour and during which
time the said two Women made several a Hempts to picks
her pocket That this Informant at length got out
of the said House and was Endeavouring to make the best
of her way form the said two Women but the said Two
Women followed, this Informant and Sized hold of her
and forcibly and feloniously and against her Will took
from out of her Right Hand pocket One half Crown
piece and some half pence and took A pair of pattened out
of her hand and said now you Gallows whose Ill do for you
That at the Instant a one persons came up to her assistance
and Took the said two Woman into Custody.

And this Informant Peter Bate for himself Saith
That he is a Japanner and was going to his Work about 6 o Clock
this Morning That as he was going by Tower Street aforesaid
he saw the above Two Women Seize hold of the above named
Elizabeth Tummer< no role > and with horrid Threats said They would have
some Money and immediately put their hands into the said Elizabeth
pocket and Took out a half Crown piece and some Copper money
and Ann Farmer< no role > forcibly took a pair of Pattens out of the said
Elizabeths hand and threatened to Cut her down with them That this
Informant then assisted and took them into Custody and the prisoners affered to
return the property to the said Elizabeth Tummer< no role > .
