THE Information of

of Broad Street Saint George
in
the County of aforesaid Taylor
Taken this 21st Day of August 1783 before me One
of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace
in and for the said County
who being upon Oath saith That between the Hours of Eleven and Twelve O Clock
on Monday night last he was Stopped by two men in
Torrington street
in the said Parish of Saint George who
crossed from the Opposite Side of the way to where this
Informant was, and coming up to Informant demanded
his Money in a peremptory manner and knocked him
down at which time he on his Oath declares he was in
Bodily fear. That white he was on the Ground the Tallest
of the said two Men forcibly held him down and violently
Squeezed his throat while the Shortist took out of his
Pocket nine or ten Shillings and that after they had so
done they pushed
threwhim into a Ditch and were going away
but Informant having called out Murder. they were pursued
and the Tallest of the said two men now here present and
who calls himself

(and who was the person that
held Informant down by the Throat while the other
robbed him) was apprehended and Secured.
