Middlesex to wit


The Information of Michael Tooley< no role > of the Parish
of Saint Matthew Bethnal Green in the County
of Middlesex Weaver taken and made on Oath
before me one of his Majesty's Justices of the
peace in and for the said County the 28th. day of
September 1781.

This Informant on his Oath saith that on Monday
the 24th. day of September instant this Informant went to
his [..] Brother in Law James Cawson at his House in
Frith Street Soho to receive some Money due to this Informant
for nursing a Child of the said James Lawson< no role > , That he
received Five Shillings of the said James Lawson< no role > which
he out into his Waiscoat Pocket not having any Breeches
Pocket, and had no other Money about him. That as
this Informant was going through Moorfields in his way
Home from his Brother in law's he was over taken, about
eleven o' Clock at night it Moorfields aforesaid in the said
County by one William Stairs at that time a Stronger of to
this Informant who came close up of the Side of this
Informant and mentioned some thing to this Informant
respecting the Clock the particulars of which this Informant
does not recollect. That he walked a few Steps with this
Informant, when this Informant finding his Waiscoat
pocket move this Informant stopped Short and found that
the said William Statia< no role > had got his Hand in this
Informant's Pocket, who on being detected by this
