Whereas it appeareth unto as Two of his Majties. Justices of the
Peace for the said County of Middlx
(Quor unus) upon the compliant
of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the parrish of
St. John of Wappin
in the County of Middlx
that

Singlewoman
is lately come into the said parrish endeavouring
to settle herself there contrary to Law, and by reason of her
poverty hath become chargeable to the said parrish of St. John
of Wappin
and will unavoidably be a further and greater charge
to the said parrish if not speedily prevented all which wee the said
Justices of the peace doe adjudge to be two And whereas it also
further appeareth unto as upon Oath that about Six years agoe
the said
Lettice Draper< no role >
lived as a hired yearly Servant
above
the space of One whole year at the yearly wages of Four Pounds
and Tenn shillings P. Annum to and with one

a Widdow
living in
Essex Street
in the parrish of St. Clement Danes
in the
County of Middlx
And now upon carefull and diligent Examination
wee connot find any legall Settlement that the said
Lettice Draper< no role >
hath gained elsewhere since Wee doe therefore adjudge the said
parish of
St Clement Danes
in the County of Middx
to be the
place of the last legall Setlement of the said
Lettice Draper< no role >
and
that the ought to be sent thithen.
These are therefore in his Majties. name to comand
you and every of you forthwith upon sight hereof to pass and
convey the said Lettice Draper< no role >
from the said parrish of St John
of Wappin
to the said parrish of St. Clement Danes
and to deliver
her together with this precept to the Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor there or to some or one of them who are
hereby required There to receive and provide for as they doe for
other such Poor of their said parrish untill they shall freed
from her by due course of Law Given under our hands and
seales this 5th. day of January Ann Dom 1714
