Upon reading the humble peticon of Giles Quincy< no role > Governor
of the house of Correccon at Clerkenwell in this County
exhibited unto this Court setting forth that the dwelling
house belonging to the said house of Correccon is very
ruinous & decayed, and the foundacon thereof very
defective Insoemuch that the same is ready to fall, and
that the Petr. cannot live in the same unless speedily
repaired, And that the said prison being very insufficient
the Convicts comitted thither have frequently broke out &
escaped, And the Petr. praying that this Court would be
pleased to Order a view to be taken of the sd. dwelling house
& prison, and that the same way be effectually repaired,
It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is hereby
recomended & reffered unto John offley < no role > John Milner< no role > This name instance is in set 4214. John Richardson< no role > John Fuller< no role > Alexander Ward< no role >
Richard Browne< no role > Benjamin Hilton< no role > John Metcalfe< no role > &
John Crosbie< no role > Esqrs . nine [..] of his Maties. Justices of the peace
for this County or any three of them to inspect the dwelling
house belonging to the said house of Carreccon, and to take
to their assistance such able workmen as they shall think fit,
and to see whether the same or any & what part thereof
is [..] in decay for want of repaire, and to consider
whether it will be better to repaire the said [..] of
[..] dwelling house or to pull downe and
rebuild the same, and what it will cost in either case, and
alsoe to seewhif any & what part of the sd. house of Carreccon
is out of repaire, and [..] if any & what repaires are
necessary to be done thereto, and to make an estimate of
what it will cost to putt the same in good & sufficient repaire,
And to report their opinions touching the premisses unto
this Court on or before the seventeenth day of February
next .
