Examination Text | Elizabeth Sawyer aged about 46 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Anne within the liberty of Westminster upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Pyke an Upholder [sic] the East side of Leicester Fields in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of 21 months at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about five years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together. Sworn the 29th day of April 1755 before Benjamin Cox. |
