Examination TextElizabeth Dale aged 40 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St Giles in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Richard Dale (who died last Saturday, was 14 nights [sic]) to whom she was married at Uxbridge about 16 years ago, that he was a Brewer's Servant and lived in and rented an house in Cross Lane in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields for the space of four years at the yearly rent of 16 pounds besides taxes, quitted the same about one year and an half ago, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes afterwards, that she hath five children living now living by her said husband to wit Thomas aged 11 years Alice aged three eight years, Elizabeth aged six years, Richard aged five years and Sarah aged nine weeks all now with this Examinant. Sworn the 20th Day of March 1755 before Benjamin Cox.
