Examination TextMary Bird aged 52 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of Richard Bird (who died [blank] years ago) to whom she was married at the ffleet 23 years ago, that he was a Bricklayer by trade and lived in and rented an house in that part of James Street in Long Acre in the Parish aforesaid for several years at the yearly rent of 26 pounds besides taxes and there died, and that she this Examinant continued in and rented the said house on the death of her said husband for the space of five years at the yearly rent aforesaid, quitted the same between seven and eight years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Taken in the workhouse the 18th Day of January 1758.
