Examination TextElizabeth Allcock aged 21 years and upwards in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed as a vagrant from the Parish of St. James Westminster upon her oath saith that she never was married, that she bound an apprentice by the officers of the Parish of St. James aforesaid by an indenture until she should attain the age of 21 years or day of marriage to Mr Butterfield a Chandler in that part of Coventry Street which is in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields and there served about four years, and then her said Master turned this Examinant away which is about four years ago, that she never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 29th day of March 1763 before Benjamin Cox.
