Examination TextElizabeth Connor aged 22 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. George Hanover Square upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Charles Connor (gone for a soldier) to whom she was married at the King of [Saclana's] Chaplains at lodging's in Little [?] Wild Street after the manner of the Church of Rome the 23rd of April which was in the year 1753, that her said husband before his intermarriage was a yearly hired servant in the capacity of a Valet to Richard Boyle Esq who lodged at Mr Morgan's in that part of Cecil Street which is in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of two months [In the margin: 'did live with him 2 years, but the last 40 days in Cecil Street'] at the yearly wages of 20 pounds and board wages, and lodged at his Master's lodging in Cecil Street aforesaid, and was there in the Cecil Street discharged his said Master's service which is about 10 years ago as her said husband hath informed this Examinant, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together except with Mr Lycett at No.14 in the Kings Bench Walks in the [?], and in his said Master's service intermarried with this Examinant, that she hath two children living by her said husband to wit Mary aged six years and upwards and Bartholomew aged four years and upwards both now with this Examinant, and also that she this examinant is pregnant. Sworn the 17th day of July 1760 before Thomas Kynaston.
