Examination Text | William Johnson aged 36 years lodging in Moors Yard in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon his oath saith that he was before his intermarriage (and while single) a yearly hired servant to Alexander Cowan who kept the Half Moon and Candle in Bedfordbury in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of one whole year at the yearly wages of 10 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 18 years ago, that he never kept house rented a 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant since, that he was married to his present wife Susannah at the Fleet near 16 years ago. Sworn the 4th day of July 1760 before Thomas Balack. |
