Examination TextSarah Jennings aged 36 years in the workhouse of and in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields passed from the Parish of St. James within the liberty of Westminster upon her oath saith that she is the wife of Joseph Jennings (gone abroad) to whom she was married at the Fleet 15 years ago, that he was (before his intermarriage with this Examinant and while single) a yearly hired servant to Mr Eastwood at the Cardigan Head in Charing Cross in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields aforesaid for the space of three years at the yearly wages of 10 pounds diet and lodging and then intermarried as aforesaid, and continued in the same service for six months longer under the same hiring, that he never kept house rented 10 pounds by the year nor paid any parish taxes, that she hath one child living by her said husband to wit John aged eight years now in the workhouse aforesaid. Sworn the third Day of March 1760 before Benjamin Cox.
