Examination TextMargaret Smith aged 70 years lodging in Angel Court in Long Acre in the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she this is the widow of Thomas Smith, that since the death of her said husband having no child living but what had gained a settlement, that she was a yearly hired servant to Mr Guion next Hunts Court in St Martin's Lane in the Parish aforesaid for the space of two years and upwards at the yearly wages of 5 pounds diet and lodging, quitted the same about 23 years ago, that she hath not kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor hath been a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together since. Sworn the 12th Day of September 1766 before Peter Planck.
