Examination Text | Susannah Lewis aged 32 years passed from the parish St Andrew Holborn London to the Parish of St Martin in the Fields upon her oath saith that she is the widow of James Lewis (who died five years ago) to whom she was married at the Fleet the 10th of September 1753, that her said husband was bound an apprentice by an indenture for seven years to Henry Lewis a Printer in Durham Yard in the said Parish of St Martin in the Fields, and there served all his said time out which expired [blank] years ago, that he never kept house rented a tenement of 10 pounds by the year paid any parish taxes nor was a yearly hired servant in any one place for 12 months together afterwards, nor hath she this Examinant since the death of her said husband. Taken the workhouse of 28th day of August 1766. |
