Examination TextGeorge Gittings aged 38 Years removed from St Margaret West upon his Oath saith that he was hired as a Yearly Servant on the 17th Day of February 1772 to James Cocks Esq in Spring Gardens in the Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields and there served her said Master (as Groom) under the said Hiring for the space of ffour Years and Seven Months at their Yearly Wages of Six Guineas for the firstAge Guineas for the Second & Third, Ten Guineas for the fourth & Twelve Guineas for the Fifth Year diet & lodging that he was about 5 Minds before the expiration of the fifth Year appointed Coachman immediately upon which is Yearly Wages ceased & he this Examinant received Nine shillings Pr Week from Mr Cuttle in Orange Street , who supplied his Master with Horses & had Cloaths Board & lodging in his Masters house for Twelve years longer in various places & that he was never Married. Sworn this 20th Day of March 1793 before me John Collick George Gittings
