Examination TextAnn Archer aged 23 Years removed from St Giles in the ffields upon her Oath saith that she was never Married nor bound Apprentice , that she said for the space of Fourteen Months all under one hiring with Mr George Jones at the Sign of the Harlequin near Vinegar Yards in Drury Lane in the Parish of Saint Martin in the Fields at ffour Pounds by the Year Wages die and lodging quitted the same about ffive Years ago since which she had not been a Yearly hired Servant in any one place for Twelve Months together not done any Act to acquire a subsequent Settlement. And this Examinant upon her voluntary Oath further saith that she is no great with Child or Children which is or are likely to be Born a Bastard or Bastards a to become chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Martin in the ffields and that Thomas Raynham a Journeyman Taylor , who worked for Mr Gunner in Tower Street hired several Times carnal Knowledge of for a Body and did beget her with the Child or Children she now goeth with & is Pregnant of and that he the said Thomas Raynham is the true & only ffather thereof & no Man else. Sworn this 8th Day of ffebruary 1793 before me Wm Hyde Ann Archer her Mark
